Deck Out Your Fridays! Tree time!

While my emphasis will always be on Halloween, this site is really for me to cover all aspects of Autumn (which includes activities leading up to Christmas!) and holidays in general.  Now I don't know about you, but I just realized how incredibly close Christmas is!!  Yikes!

Last week my family traveled to Linvilla Orchards to cut down our own tree, which is a tradition of ours.  We just brought in into our house today.  Little did we know that our beautiful tree harbored a nest of spiders...  It was like Chamber of Secrets seeing all those spiders on the wall where the tree was propped up against.  I have a strong dislike of tiny spiders.  No don't wear they go!  (<-- I just wanted to keep that sentence for you all so you can see how distracted I am by my own Harry Potter reference.  I can see Deathly Hallows out of the corner of my eye.  When I finish this post, I get to pick it up and continue to reread it!  That sentence should have read, "You don't know where they go!"...)

Anyway, the tree is now in its proper place .  We wait for it to shake itself out so that we can adorn it with our generations of gems.  I can't wait to decorate it tomorrow!  Look out for pictures!

Do you have your tree up yet (if you celebrate)?  Send me pictures!

All Media Mondays: Halloween Carols!

Why don't you surprise some neighbors with some of these carols this Christmas season!

Joy to the world,
It's Halloween.
The night of fright has come!
This time of year we wait.
We hope he won't be late.
The Great Pumpkin will come,
The Great Pumpkin will come,
The Great, The GREAT Pumpkin will come.

He rules the world,
On Hallow's Eve.
He's coming here tonight.
Let's go into the pumpkin patch
They'll put us in the booby hatch,
But we will have such fun,
But we will have such fun,
But we, But we will have such fun.

Spooky Night, Halloween Night,
All is cold, nothing's right.
Round yon pumpkin glowing away.
People singing in the doorway.
Sing in devilish glee-ee.
Singing in devilish glee.

Deck the Halls
Deck the halls with poison ivy,
fa la la la la, la la la la.
'Tis the season to be slimy,
fa la la la la, la la la la.
Don we now our strange apparel,
fa la la, la la la, la la la.
Troll the ancient Halloween carol,
fa la la la la, la la la la.
See the goblins rise before us,
fa la la la la, la la la la.
As we sing the Halloween chorus,
fa la la la la, la la la la.
Follow them as they ascend,
fa la la, la la la, la la la.
Join with all your loony friends,
fa la la la la, la la la la.

On the First Day of Halloween
On the First Day of Halloween, my Swamp Thing gave to me:

A hoot owl in a dead tree.
Two trick or treaters,
Three black cats,
Four skeletons,
Five Snicker bars,
Six goblins gobbling,
Seven pumpkins glowing,
Eight monsters shrieking,
Nine ghosts a-booing,
Ten ghouls a-groaning,
Eleven masks a-leering,
Twelve bats a-flying.

It's a Stretch! Saturdays: TREEVENGE!

From the self-proclaimed "World's #1 Halloween Website," HauntedHouse.com, comes TREEVENGE.  They recently tweeted it from thier Twitter account.  (Btw, you should "follow" mine ;) )
TREEVENGE is directed by Jason Eisener Jason Eisener and independent film maker from Canada who gained a bit of notoriety for his excellent "Hobo with a Shotgun" trailer he created for in a contest for the film GrindHouse. Watch his latest brilliant opus TREEVENGE below. Definitely NSFW.

I'm having some marital issues with my Mac right now.  I can't turn it on...  And my home desktop PC is a POS and the sound won't work.  LOVELY!  So, I'm posting this before I've even watched it.  Use discretion while watching it since I can't prewarn you about anything.  I hope it's awesome.

**I've since made up with my Mac and watched this.  You have to have the right kind of humor for this and a love for horror gore.  Luckily I have both!  I thought it was a little slow in the beginning but eventually worth the wait.  Completely effed up.  And, I now can't wait to go cut my tree down with the fam tomorrow at Linvilla Orchards!!**

Deck Out Your Fridays! It's Time.

XmasDecoration.jpg

Now that Thanksgiving has come to pass, it is appropriate to start hanging the Christmas lights and decorations.  I cannot stress just how much it bothers me to see Christmas items for sale at stores BEFORE Halloween has even arrived.  Why don't you just take away from TWO holidays you Commercial Corporate World, you!  And then to see people decorating their homes before Thanksgiving day?  I don't get it.  It frustrates me, being the holiday/Halloween guru that I am.

Enough about me though.  How do you feel about Christmas decorating?
